You don’t have to navigate everything alone.
Life can be complicated. Sometimes we carry experiences that continue to affect us long after they happened. Sometimes we know we aren’t feeling like ourselves, but we’re not quite sure how to get back there. And sometimes we simply need a safe place to be honest about what we’re going through without judgment. I genuinely love being a therapist. I feel privileged to sit with people during some of the most difficult, confusing, and meaningful seasons of their lives. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to feel understood, and empowered enough to create meaningful change. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 10 years serving in the United States Air Force as a medic. That experience shaped the way I understand resilience, trauma, and the many ways people learn to keep moving forward even when life has been difficult. I also spent three years working in community mental health, where I had the opportunity to work with people from many different backgrounds and walks of life. These experiences have taught me to meet people where they are and to see the person beyond the challenges they’re facing. I am EMDR trained and use an integrative, trauma-informed approach that may incorporate EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and somatic approaches. I see clients across the lifespan and tailor therapy to the individual rather than believing there is one approach that works for everyone. Therapy might involve processing painful experiences, learning to manage anxiety or overwhelming emotions, navigating relationships or life transitions, strengthening self-esteem, or simply finding your way back to yourself.
I believe your culture, identity, values, relationships, and lived experiences are important parts of understanding who you are. You should never have to leave those parts of yourself at the door when you come to therapy. I want to understand your story from your perspective—not make assumptions about who you are or what you need. My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from Prescott College. My clinical training and professional experiences have shaped a therapeutic style that is compassionate, grounded, curious, and focused on the whole person. Most importantly, I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be a real person—not a diagnosis, not a problem to be fixed, and not someone who has to have everything figured out before asking for help.
Wherever you are in your journey, we can start there. You don’t have to have the right words or know exactly what you need. You just have to take the first step.
